What is an INHC? It's an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.  Easily said by I would be your guide on the side for your wild ride of life. Yes, we learn together and I help coach you to find ways you can do the things your physician has instructed regarding lifestyle changes. I do not know your body only you do so we do a bit of trial and error to find management techniques that work for you.  YOUR DRIVING IN THIS MODEL!!!

 

Examples:  Johns Hopkins University- Integrative GI Health led by Dr. Gerard Mullan and Linda Lee.

Duke University Medical Center - Integrative Medicine Center with Health Coaching as part of the program.

Cleveland Clinic- Institute of Functional Medicine and Integrative Health- uses Health Coaches as well.

The Best of the Best in the Country are turning to using Integrative techniques and implementing Health Coaching to help keep their patients Healthy.

Director/Founder, October 2013 to Present

Greater Richmond GI Support, Richmond, VA

  • Realized there was a need for more Support in Richmond area regarding Gastro-Intestinal Disorders and the impact they have on emotional/physical health thus founding this Organization.
  • Evaluated products and diets marketed in order to find healthier products to lead to better health when dealing with GI Disorders.
  • Inform others of Choices and offer Emotional Support to lead them to better ways of coping with disease.
  • Established Website, Facebook Page, and Group to incorporate today’s technology in reaching a wider audience.
  • Have obtained certification as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, to help lead others to realize they have a choice in Healthcare, and to promote resources available to more people within the Richmond Area.
  • Also have developed a For-Profit Business (A Step Into Health) to utilize my professional health coaching skills towards clientele with other medical illnesses allowing them to make gradual steps into better health. The goal intended in this is to utilize profits to support funding for this Group to become Non-Profit as I believe non-profit is exactly that.

 

Histotechnologist/Histology Technician, July 2007 to Present

HCA’s CJW Medical Center, Richmond, VA

  • Promoted by Manager to oversee Dermatology Accounts; utilizing my abilities to interpret problems and coordinate solutions.
  • Adapted policies and procedures to troubleshoot equipment failures and accurately performed daily maintenance of various pieces of equipment.
  • Researched and trained other employee’s proper ways of grossing dermatology specimens to appease customers.
  • Efficiently utilized microtome to cut thin slices of tissue to prepare quality looking slides for pathologists.
  • Maintained accurate files regarding specimens received in lab for testing.
  • Volunteered to learn/train in other areas not in my specific job category to help out for staff shortages.
  • Helped lead collaboration between ACAC Health and Wellness Club and staff in the laboratory at Chippenham Medical Center to promote a healthier workplace.
  • Initiated Change within facility by reaching out to CEO and Head Nursing Administrator to promote better patient care.
  • Provided thorough education Materials for Medical Professionals on Clostridium Difficile and ways to help lower incidence rates in the hospital setting.

  • Examined and accurately measured various specimen types during grossing.
  • Applied and adapted the techniques taught in embedding and microtomy to increase productivity.
  • Further developed interpersonal skills by communicating ideas during laboratory meetings that were implemented to speed up turn around times.
  • Progressed from Histology Trainee to Histotechnologist.

  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Accurately performed data entry and maintained organized Medical Staff files.
  • Attended Hospital/Medical Staff committee meetings and successfully completed minutes.

 

Head Diving Coach, Summers 2001, 2002

Shenandoah Community Association, Richmond, VA

  • Developed and practiced interpersonal skills by instructing 8-16 year olds to perform certain dives.
  • Effectively communicated the idea of teamwork, incorporated motivation techniques using positive reinforcements, and disciplined team members as necessary.
  • Progressed from team member to Head Coach.

 

High School Student Athletic Trainer, 1997-1999

Monacan High School, Richmond VA

  • Successfully treated students for minor injuries and guided them through rehabilitation exercises under direction of Head Athletic Trainer.
  • Demonstrated flexibility by working with various sports teams whenever there was a need.
  • Oversaw and advised new Student Athletic Trainers on various procedures that were utilized, e.g. taping ankles.
  • Learned to work along with Team Orthopedic Surgeon in order to give students best possible outcome.

As I need to get more clinical experience so I can sit for National Certification to be Board Certified in Health and Wellness Coaching.  We can do it by Skype, Facetime, or if your local I can meet you where you deem fit.  Top Notch Quality Customer Service is my Goal.  If your not satisfied please let me know so I can fix whatever is wrong, I won't get offended as I like Constructive Criticism.  If you so desire though, you can donate funds or help me navigate the waters in getting this group to be non-profit with the State of Virginia. As so many people in Central Virginia deal with Gastro-intestinal issues from various causes and they need more help sometimes to get through life's rocky periods.
